3 reasons why we want to see more students achieve their goals in math:
#1 – Math helps students to build problem-solving skills.
#2 – Math helps students to develop logical thinking.
#3 – Math helps students to gain confidence in their abilities.

Looking for a Math class with support for your child? Mrs. Kimberly Potter offers students opportunities to learn Mathematical Habits of Mind & Mathematical Habits of Interaction in all Math courses catered to particular math abilities more than grade levels. Students must take the pre-assessment prior to signing up for Pre-Algebra, Algebra and Geometry. Individual progress monitoring is available and encouraged throughout the following courses:
Middle School Math is a course that focuses on the basics (Fractions, Decimals, and Percentages, Ratios and Proportions, Integers and Rational Numbers, Algebraic Expressions and Equations, Geometry, Coordinate Plane, Data Analysis and Probability, Exponents and Scientific Notation, Functions, Problem Solving and Critical Thinking)
Pre-Algebra is a course that prepares students for Algebra. This course deals with more complex applications and multi-step problem-solving than Middle School Math. Pre-algebra builds on middle school foundations by requiring a deeper understanding and more advanced manipulation of mathematical principles.
Algebra is a course includes topics such as Variables and Expressions, Solving Linear Equations, Graphing Linear Equations and Functions, Solving and Graphing Inequalities, Systems of Equations and Inequalities, Polynomials and Factoring, Quadratic Equations and Functions, Rational Expressions and Equations and more.
Geometry is a course that covers Points, Lines, and Planes, Angles and Their Measures, Triangles and Their Properties, Congruence and Similarity, Quadrilaterals and Polygons, Circles and Their Properties, Perimeter, Area, and Volume, Transformations (translations, rotations, reflections, dilations and more.
