We are so excited to share good news with all of you. This next year, Ms. Amanda Griggs will join the staff at Achieve Learning Center as the Elementary Language Arts & Young Explorers teacher!

Ms. Griggs relocated to Whatcom County in 2015 after growing up in the greater Seattle area. She is thankful to be raising her daughter in Lynden, and after nearly a decade, Whatcom County truly is their home.

Currently, Amanda is working towards her dual degree in Elementary and Special Education through Grand Canyon University. Special areas of interest for Amanda include trauma-informed teaching, special education, and strengths-based teaching. She takes a creative and flexible approach to learning; adapting each lesson based on student engagement, ability, and a spirit of fun, while continually keeping Christ at the center.

Amanda has spent the last four years as a para educator in a local Christian school working with kindergarten through fourth grade and providing both direct instruction, small group intervention, and one-on-one support for students with IEP’s. Amanda and her daughter attend Third Christian Reformed Church in Lynden and in their limited free time they enjoy seeing musicals, reading, spending time outdoors, and getting crafty!

“I would rather be what God chose to make me than the most glorious creature that I could think of; for to have been thought about, born in God’s thought, and then made by God, is the dearest, grandest and most precious thing in all thinking.” – George MacDonald
