Mrs. Bethany Pellerin
English, History

Bethany Pellerin was inspired to pursue her dream of becoming a teacher by her high school history teacher Mrs. Macri. Mrs. Macri was a teacher that not only taught, but cared deeply for her students. She made the classroom a place of learning, fun and community.
Mrs. Pellerin graduated from the University of Maine with B.A. in Elementary Education. She began her teaching career in 1998 at Penobscot Christian school teaching as a classroom teacher for 3rd and 4th grade.
She homeschooled all three of her children, Isaiah, Elijah and Hannah. She taught classes to many homeschool students in her home. She has also taught Sunday school classes, and served as the Director of Children’s Ministry.
Mrs. Pellerin has been involved with ALC for several years as her children attended classes, as a member of the PTO, the ALC board and along with her husband Peter, as bookkeeper.

Mrs. Jill Roderick
Art

Jill Roderick has had the joy of teaching art and encouraging her students to get creative since 1990. She taught Kindergarten-12th grade students in several Christian schools, parent partnership programs, and private homeschool groups. She believes that every child is an artist and she seeks to help them discover their unique God-given abilities and styles of art-making.
Mrs. Roderick graduated from Calvin University with a B.A. in K-12 Art Education. She began her teaching career in 1990 at Timothy Christian School and taught K-6th Art there until April 2000.
She homeschooled both of her boys and taught art classes to various groups of homeschool students over the past 20 years. She most recently taught two high school Art classes at Lynden Christian High School, and K-4th Art classes and after school Art Club at Evergreen Christian School Spanish Immersion Campus.
Mrs. Roderick has been involved with ALC for several years while her sons took classes at ALC, and she chaired the Parent Teacher Organization. She is excited to be a part of the ALC teaching team in the fall of 2020, and hopes to see you in her art classes!

Ms. Sierra Spring
Science

Sierra Spring was born and raised in North Bend, Washington, and grew up at a home in the Cascade mountains. Growing up surrounded by nature gave her a heart for the sciences and a desire to learn more about how the world around us works. She attended Bellevue College where she earned her Associates in Arts and Sciences with honors. After graduating, she moved to Ferndale to attend Western Washington University where she graduated with a Bachelors in Biology/Anthropology and a minor in Psychology. During her time at Western Washington University, she was chosen to be an Anatomy and Physiology Assistant Teacher to help the undergraduate students succeed.
Since 2018, Sierra has been active in the Christian communities Ekklesia and the INN/The Garden, where she works with other young adults to build and strengthen their faith. Sierra loves to continuously learn more about God and His creation through the various sciences including biology, chemistry, and environmental science. She seeks to better understand how God made the world we live in and to impart to others how science shows us His glory.
In her free time, Sierra enjoys painting, hiking, reading, and caring for her three guinea pigs.

Mrs. Kimberlee Terry
Math

Kimberlee Terry was born and raised in Chattanooga, Tennessee, in a family full of educators. After graduating from Chattanooga Christian School, she attended Bryan College in Dayton, TN earning a bachelor’s degree in secondary math education. Kimberlee first taught at her high school for three years before moving to Kenya, Africa to work at Rift Valley Academy, a missionary boarding school. After marrying her husband, Dan, she moved to Whatcom County and accepted a math teaching position at Blaine High School. She has been involved with middle and high school students in a variety of settings from tutoring, substitute teaching, youth mission trips, coaching or teaching Sunday school.
Working with students who struggle in mathematics is her main strength. She also enjoys guiding those who excel in mathematics. Discovering how God has wired each individual student’s thought processes and connecting with them at their current level will help them reach the next level in their study of mathematics.
She has been married to her husband for 20 years, has three children. Currently, she is homeschooling the kids, spoiling two Persian cats and several chickens.
