April is Poetry Month. Getting a head start, Mrs. Likkel’s Writer’s L.A.B. class wrote a poem about a penguin selfie:
Who knew fame would find them?”What is this?
Is it food? A trick?”
Drawn like a bee to nectar,
it unexpectedly has
created a buzz
and scientists have a
new song to sing.
Named Tito and Wayne,
this pic has blown up
the internet, a
sensation with no sting –
only sweetness and
curious penguins, too cute
to ignore.
It has made the
photographer famous,
hastening many
a budding adventurers
eager to be taken under
their wings.
