I attended Achieve from 2012-2014 and the blessings I experienced there continue to impact my life. At the time, I was a freshman in high school with no idea where God would call me. Achieve made evident His calling, through several stellar English courses that sparked my love of language, and opportunities to mentor students as a tutor and classroom aide, which fueled my passion to support others’ learning.

After attending Achieve, I worked as classroom aide for Whatcom Center for Early Learning and got my bachelor’s in Communication Sciences and Disorders with a minor in English at Western Washington University. These experiences reinforced my realization of God’s calling for me to work with kids, specifically those with communication challenges. I went on to earn my master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology from WWU and moved to Colorado in 2022 to complete an internship at a speech-language clinic that served children and adults with communication disorders. Although a Pacific Northwest native and enthusiast, I became enamored with Colorado during those months, and now call it home.

I will soon be working at a pediatric clinic in Colorado Springs as a speech-language pathologist clinical fellow and am excited to support the communication development of my future clients. Achieve opened doors that made these opportunities possible, through quality instructors who invested in my learning and prioritized teaching through a biblical lens. I still have a box full of Achieve memorabilia that serves as a tangible reminder of its role as a stepping stone on my path to becoming a speech-language pathologist. Every step in your academic journey is valuable and has the potential to shape your life in significant ways, as Achieve did mine!
